Can be anything depending on the value of x. This is not an equation as written.
It's NOT -32, by the way. Whatever 16x is, subtract 2 from that. Since x could be anything, the answer is 2 less than 16 times the value of x.
Seems like almost everyone who looked at this does not know how to read it. A couple went so far as to ASSUME that 16x-2=0, which is clearly not stated. The rest of them are erroneously assuming that the statement is 16x(-2)= , which would then really be -32x, NOT -32.
The value of x could be anything, since this is not an equation.

16 times -2 is -32.
(you should have written that 16*-2 not 16x-2)
if you are taking about variables then I'm going to assume that the equation is
16x + (-2) =0
so you would add 2 to both sides
16x = 2
divide by 16
x=(2/16)
simplify to 1 over 8 to get
x=(1/8)
That was so simple.

if you are doing 16 (times) -2 its -32 and if its 16x (minus) 2 its just 16x - 2 its unsolveable.

If the question is 16*-2, the answer would be -32. If the X is a variable, there is not enough information, though you could simplify it to x=(1/8)+?

16 x -2 = -32
But if this is an algebraic equation 16x - 2
and you're looking for the value of x, then the answer is 1/8.

Don't you ever study. I know 5 year olds that can work this out. In case you wonder the answer is -32.

16x-2-?
16x-2+2=0+2
16x=2
16x/16=2/16
x=1/8,or .125

-32 A minus and a plus = a minus.. If it was -2x-16, it would be a plus 32. Got it?
