If you are considering buying it to use as a place of business, you really ought to get your answers from an actual lawyer than us helpful folk here. If it's for personal use, it is much less likely to attract negative attention. If it does, you say sorry and give it to them and it's not as if you put a huge investment into it anyway, right? If you want it as an investment solely for the resale value, well, you pay your money and take your chances there, don't you?

It is not a copyright infringement. But it has legal restrictions based on trademark. If the "real" Current TV people don't like your URL, they can go to ICAAN and possibly get your registration cancelled. It would depend mostly on if content on your site affected their marketing rights.

If I owned one or the other it would be close enough for me to call my Atty and discuss the issue of infringement.
