The result or the outcome of a process.
In research and experimentation, conclusions are determinations made by studying the results of preceeding work.
The accuracy of the conclusion depends on the accuracy of the preceeding work.

I would say it is the theory or hypothesis reached by the scientist after applying the scientific method to a problem or idea.
