i am thinking about getting an ipod but i don't use itunes and i really want a new ipod nano

yes, i think....
but you don't need the itunes store.
Download the program(it's free and easy) and get your music from limewire.
OR
Buy a different mp3 player that way it might be a little cheaper and you wouldn't need itunes.

Yes. You do need to use iTune to load music to iPod. iTune installing CD comes along with all iPod related products. It's really simple to use iTune. Actually, I found it quite convenient! :)
