I think that rude people are insecure, or fearful, and that their rudeness is a "tell".
Their rudeness, or arrogance is most often a defence or a facade because they are feeling weak inside.
Also, people are more likely to be rude if they're in a hurry. It's a bit harder to maintain a certain standard of decorum if you're rushed, or under pressure.

Sometimes people set out to be deliberately rude and those people are misfits.
Most people lash out when they are stressed, facing difficultly, misunderstood, or angry. Those rude outburst are usually unintentional and regretted later on but often uncontrollable.
They should make a pill for that as it is more common than most people think.

they feel insecure and being rude is a chance for them to exert their power over others.
Or they are having a bad day, didnt mean to be rude and are so locked into their own cr*p mood that they forgot you were even there, you just became an obsticak and stopped being a person and the rude person switched off from the real world as it got too much to deal with.
Or someone is rude to he/she and this is their payback
Or they thought someone was being rude to them and were retaliating

why do people insult you about somthing that you already know is a problem? Some people can be really mean and heartless over the most pathetic things that arent there own problem or problems.If sombody is fat there is always sombody that will insult you about your weight but they dont know how bad that person feels inside about it.I hate peopel like that and the next time sombody has got somthing nasty to say about sombody elses problems im gonna smash there heads in with brick.

the way i see it its either like a protection method so that they get respect or portect themselves from being rejected or rude by another person so that they act rude before u or it could be cuz they feel more VIP than u or more self indulged n all
