you can call and ask him if he wouldn't mind picking them up for you...but if it's out of the way then maybe you should just wait until tomorrow (unless you need them tonight?)

If you ask in a manner that allows it to be his choice, as a matter of convenience, then it is okay to ask (e.g., a friend asking for a favor).

If it is expressed demurely, as a spouse in need or damsel in distress, then it feels to be one more obligation to satisfy possibly making the relationship itself feel burdensome.

Call him and ask. I'm sure it won't be a problem and he'll be happy to get them for you. If he can't or won't then it's no real problem is it?

why not, he is your partner, I do that all the time, my hubby always ask me before get home, if i need something. that's what a partner is for. no ?
