Rain does not contain pure water. It contains water droplets which again contain condensation nuclei like dust or smoke particles, particles of salt or droplets of sulphuric acid. The atmosphere usually has sufficient condensation nuclei over which the water vapour condenses to form water droplets whch later fall as rain..Somtimes the rain contains nitric acid , sulphuric acid and carbonic acid which we call acid rain.
