It varies by region and religion. Most Jews and Muslims are circumcised. Otherwise, the USA is the last developed nation still doing it without religious or medical reasons. Circumcision rates in the USA are lowest on the West coast. Generally, circumcision rates have fallen; to as low as 14% in some states, compared to being over 90% nationally in the 1960s/70s for example.

Here are the latest USA statistics by year, states, races, etc:

Unfortunatly I was mutilated at birth and I am very resentful of it. But I have restored my foreskin and I am much happier. Sex is a million times better with a foreskin. My fiance loves my foreskin and prefers it so I haven't had a problem with that. Also uncircumcised men do NOT have increased risk for infections. That's a myth. I had many infection problems as a child and I was cut. I haven't had any for many years. Plus getting a circumcision is WAY worse than have a minor UTI. UTI's can be easily fixed with anti-biotics. There is no reason to cut someone up to prevent them. My view on circumcision is that I have absolutely no problems with that a consenting adult choses to do with their body, but I believe that non-theraputic circumcisions of minors should not be done. It's an unethical practice. You are wrong to say most girls won't touch an uncircumcised penis. You must not be doing very good research if you seem to think that circumcision is still popular. Only around 2/3rds of my generation is circumcised. So I know plenty of uncut guys and they have no problems with girlfriends. That issue has come more from earlier generations where circumcision was so popular that was what they were used to and females acted irrationally and immaturily to something they weren't familiar to. In 2010 less than 40% of infant males were circumcised. It's not a popular practice anymore. Most girls your son's age will be more than used to a natural man. Circumcision for a fact does a lot of damage to the penis which yeilds in sensitivity and function loss. It's a non-beneficial procedure that should not be done to a minor without drastic medical reasons. -Connor

Muslims, Jews and just over half the teens in the USA are circumcised. Also most in the Philippines and South Korea.

Other than that, almost all the teens in the world are intact - most of Europe, Asia, South America, Australia etc.

Muslim and Jewish teens will almost all be circumcised. European, Asian, and Hispanic guys will not be. It's fairly rare in most of the rest of the world (except for Muslims and Jews, wherever they live), but it was still fairly popular in the US around the time today's teens were born, so in most states of the USA the majority (but not nearly all) of guys will have had this barbaric procedure forced upon them.

If you managed to escape being mutilated as an infant, be very grateful to your parents for being enlightened enough to insist that it not be done to you.

Depends on what part of the world you are in. Most teens from the USA are circumcised, although more and more parents are stopping. When my little brother was born, my Dad insisted that he NOT be circumcised. They took my little brother away and did it anyway! Boy, was my Dad angry....

Anyway, there is absolutely ZERO reason to circumcise. So why do it? Jewish people do it for religious reasons, but it is not necessary. Personally, I prefer the penis in it's natural form. It feels better and doesn't hurt.

In the US they are, in the rest of the world...nope. In America, California has the least circumcised boys (said to be due to wide racial diversity) whereas the mid-west has a majority of circumcised boys. Americans do it because they want their sons to look like their fathers or to fit in...however, there are hardly any reasons for it (unless there is tightening of the foreskin or an excessive amount of it). As a woman, I actually perfer men who are intact, and uncircumsized. It feels better.

I would say so. Most American teens anyway. I think outside of the country, they're more likely to be uncircumsized. Especially Europeans.

World-wide? Probably not. Muslims don't practice it, Jews do, Christians do (but less and less these days), some tribes practice it at age 7 or so rather than at birth. Don't know about Asian kids.

If you are talking teens from all over the world, the answer is no. Its a predominately American thing. Neither my husband or my son were circumsized . We saw no reason to do that to our son.
