By no means! In this instance I should like to believe they intend such words as compliments. Imagine how difficult it must be to find a single person in this world who is still not jaded by the ills of society. That there exists a person whose emotions and joys are still unhindered from the tragedies of this world. You my dear girl, are fortunate. Enjoy the day innocent one.
Later days!

How many people around you can you think of whom you can apply the word "innocent" to? (Let's exclude children for this question.) None, if any.
Innocence is a very endearing quality. I really don't think the people who called you innocent meant to offend.
I have a friend whom I call innocent too.
And of course, I don't mean that as a insult. In fact, some day, when she loses that innocence, I will be very sorry.

Being called usually means that you follow the rules, dont get into trouble and are kind and considerate to others. Since some people today dont follow rules or moral codes they vew you as innocent. It depends on who tells you that, it can be in a good way of saying that you are good and "pure", or it could be sarcastic meaning that youre a goodiegoodie.

Innocent and naive are essentially the same once you're an adult. Innocence is only a virtue in a 23 year-old if you're a maiden in a Victorian novel, which I assume you're not.

if someone considers you an "innocent"..be thankful...that means that you are not vain and mean and have not succumbed to all the evils of the world today. But it does mean that you are sweet, kind, helpful and trusting.
They are not saying that you have not experienced life, just that you have been fortunate to not have had to see bad things....and in no way does it have anything to do with your intelligence....I'm sure you are lovely and bright...which makes you even more special to those that call you "innocent".

I think it's a put down. At 23 years of age you are an adult, and probably not nearly as "innocent" as people might think you are.

haha i'm at the same age....and all my life i was sick of people telling me that i was innocent. so i went out drinking, smoking, staying up late with rock bands, etc...but in the end, still today, they think i'm innocent.
it's not a bad thing. innocence doesn't exist in the world, however.
i always thought that when people said that to me, they were implying that i'm dumb, and gullible-believing whatever or whomever and not thinking for myself.
but it could also mean that you are pure in their minds.

It is not a bad thing at all. The world just happens to be an armpit and it is no place for anyone with a heart of gold. Sad but true.

Innocent isn't bad really. All they are really doing is trying to say you are helpless. For example: You are hurt and you are at college and you have to go to the hospital right away, your mom will call the nurse and say Sana is INNOCENT, please take her to the hospital yourself. If your mom was in calafornia doing work. That was a random example.
