the NFL (No Fun League) fined T.O. $7,500 for his touchdown celebration.
He wasn't rubbing anything into the other teams face, he was just being silly...for about 2 seconds..and they still fined him over 7 thousand dollars.

I think it's rediculous. Is anyone actually in favor of them taking the fun out of the league?
I guess my question is more like a poll question. How many of you think they should just let them have fun and allow us to have fun with it, or allow us to hate the person doing it, or whatever. And how many of you think it's good policy to keep the players from celebrating?

I personally think the fans should create an official celebration organization, take donations from NFL fans, and pay the fines levied by the league...Let the players play and have fun!

re: that guy
umm..yea. I was serious about the idea, but I didnt realize it was going to offend you so bad. I should have thought it through a little better. It was very insinsitive of me! I'm VERY sorry!
freakin' idiot (opps..didnt mean to say that out loud).
I think it's a hilarious idea to have the fans buying the celebration. It would show NFL that we want the celebrations. Or let the fans buy a "celebration corner" at every game. Allow the players to go into that corner and go crazy without penalty. It wouldnt delay the game. It would make for great TV..and more advertising for the NFL.

I do think the NFL has gone overboard on this issue. Football is a full-contact and emotional sport, and it's hard to deny or suppress that.

The NFL needs to remember that their game is "entertainment" and ultimately depends on the fans to thrive.

However, celebrations that are designed to demean or degrade the opponent are unsportsmanlike and should be penalized accordingly. But as long as they're completely harmless fun.........let them go!!!!!!!!!!

All of these ridiculous so-called celebrations are very childish. Score a touchdown, hand the ball to the nearest official or get a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct or delay of the game. Too bad the rules can't take the touchdown away for conduct after scoring.

Professionals need to act like you have been there before. These are professionals. Clap, do a high five or two, leave the showboating to the pro wrestlers and the NBA.

I know this answer will get a lot of thumbs down. The so-called celebrations just aren't funny or entertaining anymore.

NFL stars, GROW UP. You are very gifted to be in the NFL, act like it is an honor.

I am a Patriots fan and I see the humor in TO's celebration and I certainly don't believe it justifies being fined at all. The league needs to keep players from getting TOO far out of control because it can cause problems, but I agree with you that they should let them have a little fun at the same time.

i read somewhere the whole celebration thing started cuz some team back in the day started having celebration dances choreographed and it was taking to much time

but what TO did was hilarious
even when he Wasn't a Cowboys and he f**ked with the star (me being a cowboys fan) i still thought let the players do what they want as long as it isn't in excess

another Q
who's TD celebrations are better
TO vs OchoCinco

i like TO's he only does them when there something going on in the NFL
Like when he put the ball down and used it like a pillow then pretended he was sleeping. That was in response to the rumors about him falling asleep a team meetings

Have the fans pay for their fines??? Are you serious??? Losing 7 grand to TO is like me leaving my change in the take a penny leave a penny tray. Their rich man, don't forget it. They're well aware of the fines and they do it anyways cause it doesn't matter to them.

And by the way... i think your right, let them celebrate. But then again like anything there should be some sort of limit to what they do... i just think the NFL takes it too far.

I hate that they did that. The games are missing an element such as celebrations and to me, it was the best part of the game. That's what sports is, it's a celebration in itself. For goodness sake, it's actually you're constitutional right to express yourself.

Yes. I don't mind high fives and stuff after touchdowns, but it is way out of hand! It detracts from the game. Real players like Emmitt and Barry didn't do that crap. Let your play speak for you.
