The documents were not made up. That was the contention of the Bush-davidians who claimed one character in them was not on old typewriters. It was the perjury of one woman who maintained that GSA had not supplied the champaign squadron with IBM Selectric typewriters that cause Mr, Rather to be "fired". Records show that she had been issued an IBM Selectric II.
The supposed "proof" that the documents were forged hinged on one character which was on the machine she used.

Mr. Rather may very well win, and should.

People that tell the truth are harassed by the FBI. The truth of how the Bush family has come out shows how lies help people get elected. George Wlaker Bush is not sincere and honest about his time in the Air National Guard and never will. Even the Kennedy clan have their skeletons to hide.

Avoid voting Republican and Democrat so consider the following.

I don't think that Rather or CBS would have been irresponsible enough to actually make up the documents. Both parties are guilty of not verifiying their information and checking their facts before broadcasting. Incidentally, the basic premise of the story, that Bush shirked his National Guard duties and avoided service due to privilege and nepotism, is still widely considered true.

They neither lied or made up documents.

Saying which may help you in life: "It is far better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt."

The documents were given to CBS and the authentication wasn't verified. However, to report on forged documents and to actually forge documents are 2 different things.

BTW: speaking of running with forged documents, how about when Bush took us to war on the fake Nigerian uranium documents that were in fact such poorly forged documents it is hard, real hard to believe BushCo DIDN'T know they were fake. Some say in fact, BushCo faked them. Weird that you aren't talking about that. It got us into a WAR after all...

At around the same time Fox News actually ran a false story about John Kerry and knew it. How come there wasn't nearly as much an outcry over that?

It's Bush's fault of course. Here you have a GENIUS like Dan Rather and Marla Mapes, being totally conned by "idiot" like Bush.

Bush also causes hurricanes, tsunamis and blew up the Space Shuttle. Dan Rather has a reliable source!!!

LOL Way to go Dan!!!
