In light of the "FilmGate" situation in New England, can we really compare Tom Brady to the upper tier QBs we have seen throughout history (Montana, Aikman, Elway, P. Manning)? Is he that good? Or does knowing the defense plan and signals before the game actually make him better?

as the old GIJoe cartoon used to say..."Knowing is half the battle"

The other half is executing.....which, regardless of "knowledge" is not easy. So for Brady to do what he did definately put him in the upper tier. If you saw the Brett Favre Interview on the subject you would realize that QBs know 80% of the time what the opponent is goint to do.....like on 3rd and long 95% of the time Chicago will go cover 2, etc.... so it would have been a minimal gain at best. Thar whaole point of studying film is top see what the other team is likely to do, or see what kind of "tells" each player has so that you can read the play.

Regardless of everrything....Brady performed, and was able to march his team down the field when he needed to. And Sunday showed us 1 thing. If the Pats had ever given him quality receivers in the first place....he would not have had to lead so many 4th quarter comebacks. Brady is real. The Pats suck.....but they are legit.

He and Peyton are interchangable as the current #1 and #2 in the league. He doesn't know the defensive signals before the game. They change their signals before every game and sometimes they change them again at halftime or at each quarter, so even with the video they can't get the signals until the game is already being played and the signals are used in that particular game.

Upper tier? hes arguably the best of the still active guys and with 3 superbowls who can deny him a place amongst those guys u mentioned.People are looking into the scandal too much.before the chargers game they showed you the places a camera is allowed and the places theyre not, its not much of a difference. they can also use binoculars to look at signals.Brady has had no advantage over anyone else.He didn't half prove his point V the chargers either.

He has excellent QB vision, something that has nothing to doi with knowing the play at hand.
