Its Murder, Read the following United States Abortion Statistics
47,282,923 abortions 1973-2005

Reported abortions in the United States, by year 1973 - 2005

Source: The Guttmacher Institute (a special affiliate to Planned Parenthood), which actively collects the abortion data directly from providers. All numbers reported are voluntary; there are no laws requiring abortionists to report to any national agency the numbers of abortions they perform. 2001-2002 are estimates by Guttmacher; 2003-2005 are estimates by the National Right to Life Committee.

Americans’ views concerning abortion:

73% say abortion should be legal only in some circumstances (53%), or illegal in all circumstances (20%). Harris Interactive, April 2006

88% favor a law requiring doctors to inform patients about alternatives to abortion. CNN/USA Today / Gallup Poll, January 2003

78% agree that women who have abortions experience emotional trauma, such as grief and regret. Wirthlin Poll, 1998

74% believe that abortion should be illegal “when the woman does not want the child for any reason.” Gallup Poll, May 2003

Why do women have abortions?

74% say having a baby would interfere with work, school, or other responsibilities.

73% say they cannot afford to have a child.

48% say they do not want to be a single parent, or have relationship problems with husband or partner.

Less than 2% say they became pregnant as a result of rape or incest.

Source: The Alan Guttmacher Institute, Perspective on Sexual & Reproductive Health, Sept. 2005

The clock is ticking....
One baby is aborted every 24 seconds

147 babies are aborted every hour

3,542 babies are aborted every day

24,865 babies are aborted every week

107,750 babies are aborted every month

These few sentences where written a few years ago and I’m sorry to repeat myself here;

Only when pro-lifers can justify their cause; when the foster care system is no longer needed because the millions of children in this system have been adopted and have a loving, safe and structured life-- when every child that is handicapped mentally or physically are adopted into a loving home-- when babies are no longer conceived by rape or born with AIDS, or any hereditary or disabling disease -- when babies are no longer born with the painful misery of drug or alcohol withdrawal-- when pro-lifers can accomplish these few things, (just in our Nation) their cause will be justified. Then and only then can society and our Supreme Court justify their cause!

TO: Beauty & Brains
If an abortion is warranted to stop a life of total misery and could not happen without a tax payer subsidy, an infinite amount of tax payers money is then spent on the medical bills and life support of this sad child which becomes a very expensive (tax dollar supported) disabled ADULT. (Please also think of the sorrow (pay) and pain their medical care takes experience every day

My stance on abortion is that I am opposed to banning abortion before fetal viability.

As to how much it is an issue for me, I very, very strongly want for a Presidential candidate who campaigns on a platform that explains why Roe v. Wade was a gross misinterpretation of the Constitution and that the decision must be overturned by the Supreme Court. The candidate would not focus on just abortion alone but would also explain why, in general, the Due Process Clause does not mean what the Court claimed it does, either in 1973 in Roe or in 1992 in Casey.

But I am no longer going to vote, because the Supreme Court's travesty in Bush v. Gore was even worse than its travesty in Roe v. Wade.

I am Pro Choice, politically speaking, but would never ever encourage a woman to have an abortion. I'm not 'pro-abortion', nor do I support abortions after the 2nd trimester. I support full disclosere with sex education and more research for both women AND MEN to have control over their fertility.

It's not really an issue for me because I find that those who support abortion on demand also support other things I don't agree with.

I could live with a candidate who wanted to make abortion less easy to get even though my personal view is that it should be outlawed except in cases of rape.

I like Ron paul's ideas on the subject.

Life cannot be defined at the federal level.
Let the states decide, and let the legislation come from the ground up not the top down.

I think its reasonable to be pro-choice and let people make their own decisions, but I just don't think its fair to say that the government should ever subsidize abortion from tax dollars when many people don't agree with this.

It should not be legal. Morally wrong. Too easy to get. Too many being performed. And the radicals are out of control on this issue. Kids having abortion without parental knowledge is insane.

It is a key issue for me and I will not vote for a CHOICE candidate. This is why Rudy cannot have my vote.

my folks are conservative, church going republicans and were pro life until i got pregnant at 15. all of a sudden my dad pressured me into getting an abortion even into my 3rd trimester-hypocrites. ;( thank God i used to have very strong views about the issue because otherwise i might not have my daughter but now i feel totally different. i think its far worse to have a child you cant support or aren't ready for and i definitely think that it should be a woman's decision. I would NEVER VOTE FOR SOMEONE THAT IS "PRO LIFE" unless they have the $$$$ to support the kids they should shut up!`

On one hand I think its the most barbaric thing human beings have ever come up with. We came to the US and had the nerve to call Native Americans "savages" while we were sticking sticks up females bodies to kill newly conceived children...

On the other hand, if you're dumb enough to have sex when your not ready to have a child or are just so narcissistic you you think you're more important then a child... I don't want you breeding anyway.

It's an issue, just not usually an important one because there are much bigger issues right now.

i'm pro-choice and if i did vote, then yes it would be an issue. i would never vote for someone who wants to take a woman's right to choose away. it's pro-choice or no choice.
