I was living in NY since childhood and received a couple speeding tickets and some other minor moving violations. The tickets were given to me on my NY Drivers License I then moved to Utah and applied and now have a Utah drivers License. I havent gotten anything in the mail here in Utah even though I used address forwarding from my home in New York, and I was getting other mail.

The court dates on the tickets were 2 years ago so it has been a decent amount of time.

I am now going back to NY to visit family and was wondering if I end up driving for some reason and get pulled over or more scary though not sure how plausible when I arrive or am about to depart from the airport in new york will I get arrested.

Like I said I was given the tickets on my NY license and now have had a Utah License even got pulled over ticketed once with no problems do I still need to worry can I still just pay the original fine if i called them up will they arrest me at the airport or on a routine stop?

Yes they will issue a warrant. Utah may not have done a national search when you were pulled over. You can contact NY and pay the past tickets to clear them. There will most likely be additional fines and/or interest & court costs added.

My understanding. You have a warrant because NY wants their money. Send the monies that you owe!!!! All tickets can be paid by mail. Stop putting this off. See if u go to jail over a speeding ticket, you'll make $11.00 a day. Stay out of jail. Now as for Utah I'm sure that they will give you a license. Just pay your fine! You''ll be just fine.

If New York checks your name and date of birth through their system and those tickets are still there they could arrest you or summons you to court to take care of tickets. Depends on the city where the tickets were issued and if they are diligent about entering tickets or warrants into their drivers' information system. I would contact the court where the tickets were issued and make arrangements to take care of the tickets. No one is going to be sitting at the airport waiting for you on traffic violations or even minor traffic infractions.

There probably are warrants for you in NY. Eventually, these may prevent you from renewing your Utah license, as states are now sharing information.

It is possible that your warrants will pop up in NY if you are pulled over there, depending on how they run the warrant check.

Since you will be in NY, why not take care of busines while you are there?

Call from Utah (anywhere but NY) and pay the fines. If you get stopped in NY and they find you have an outstanding warrant, they are going to do what it takes to make sure you appear in front of a judge.

get a lawyer in ny to pay your tickets and get your bench warrants recalled, before you get back to NYC. Good excuse you are in another state and can't appear in court...

What license you have doesn't matter if they put a positive id on you,, ss nr track etc....

You probably have a bench warrant out for your arrest. You should just go ahead and pay the tickets.

Pay the fines that have now quadrupled by your lack of responsibility! I can only hope they would arrest you but they probably won't. Why would you wish to live a life that would have you worrying about this kind of thing? Just for once, do the right thing...own up and pay up!

Be an adult and pay your fines. Just because they havent mailed you anything yet doesnt mean they havent already got a warrent on you. If you get stopped in NY you will get arrested.
