the max height is achieved when the y component of velocity is zero, and halfway through the total flight

y(t)=11.1=v0*sin(49)t-16*t^2
and
v(t)=0=v0*sin(49)-32*t
so v0*sin(49)=32*t
solve for t
11.1=16*t^2
t=sqrt(11.1/16)
0.8 seconds
now compute the v0
v0=32*.08/sin(49)
3.39 ft/sec

convert to m/s
