I asked this in garden and landscape but only 3 people answered. We just moved to a new home that has a HUGE flower bed. I have no clue about gardening or flowers!! I'd like to know, what kinds of bushes and flowers would look nice together and cover some space. Thanks!!

Don't ask on YA. Put on your shoes and go out and ask at a garden shop. Not Lowes or whatever. Somewhere locally owned. They'll give you a good sense of what grows well in your area and what's in season. Things are always easier to maintain if they're native to the area, so that's something to bear in mind.

Lol, I just about kill everything I have too. But one thing I found that works for me, if I go to the plant store and ask for something hardy, and then go home and research a ton online about it, they live longer for me. Make sure you go to a real plant store. The people in the garden section at Walmart don't know squat.

That's a tough question - where do you live (area of the country) because climate will be a factor in what will work, as will the type of soil you have. I think you'd have a better chance getting a good answer from a local nursery and/or talking to your neighbors.

It depends on where you live. Some things grow better in certain places. Here in Houston you don't need a green thumb to grow azaleas because our soil is so acidic. However they don't grow everywhere. Google native plants for your area. You can also ask at you local nursery. Good luck.

It depends on a lot of things.....

sun or shade
where does the sun shine the most
what kind of dirt
who much rain do you get
when is your growing season

etc.etc.etc.

Go to your local nursery.....they can help you before you spend tons of money on the wrong plants.

Roses, pansies, well it really doesn't matter. It's mainly color.
Pick colors you like together and just arrange them the way you would like. =)
You could put big flowers in the back, small in the front, ect.
Good luck!
=)
