Asterisk the ball and put it in the hall of fame, forever will he be a spectacle of what cheating will do, tarnish a career forever. Although Pete Rose belongs in the hall of fame, he will never be until the day he dies considered for the hall of fame, and all he did was bet on his OWN team to win. Yet cheating gets overlooked. Pete Rose was and still is the poster boy for how baseball is supposed to be played, go hard all the time... Barry Bonds is a cheat and should have his name branded in major league baseball's history books...

I like what Ecko is doing also, and am getting quite a chuckle out of the whole thing.

That said, the ball should go to the Hall of Fame. I dislike Bonds as much as anyone, but the ball and the "*record" are now a part of the game's history, whether we like it or not.

Asterisk or not I believe it belongs in the Hall of Fame. Whether he cheated or not, is it not the ball that broke the record? Records are meant to be broken, I don't remember it ever saying how its supposed to be broken or any regulations saying what constitutes breaking it except that you pass the mark. Ecko is known for doing stupid things for publicity and this is just another stunt for him to pull. He will probably launch some random crap into space and make everyone believe its the ball then donate it to the hall. (I wonder how many thumbs down I'll get for saying hall of fame like all the others who got thumbs down for saying it)

While I don't mind the asterisk, mind as well put an asterisk next to every pitcher that used the spit ball sometime in their career that has pitched a perfect game. Or howabout put an asterisk next to every hitter with over 400 homers who has been found guilty of steroids or other performance enhancers. Cheating has always been a part of the game t here is nothing we can do about it. I'm not saying its right, or fair, but it happens. Which brings me to my next point.

Steroids have been around since 1920s. There's nothing to say people back then didn't take them. Do we ever stop to think those records are ever tainted? No. Do we ever really think about what happened to cheaters in the past? No. Did we punish those in the recent past who have cheated? Not really. Then we go to people who aren't breaking any records, like Rick Ankiel, I think the guy was a great pitcher til he lost his control, then he became this good hitter, he was found with HGH and everyone goes "but when he took them they weren't illegal." Ok then what about Bonds? people always say "That big headed freak always took steroids and should be banished." To that I say, "but if he took them, when he was suspected of doing so, they weren't illegal." Stupid hypocrits.

Would you self righteous morons who believe the ball should be blown up or have an asterisk next to it. Go jump in a pit and bury yourself.

I thought in this good ol country called Americ the home of the free and the brave (what a joke). You had to be proven to be guilty of something in order to be punished. I'm tired of hypocrite Americans especially white americans with double standards. You chastise black atheletes and immortalize white ones. Bonds hasn't been proven guilty of anything yet many of you past judgment. It's more obvious that Mark Mcgwire was using something by the looks of his abnormal arms and hideous pitted face. However many of your average americans and media outlets choose to use Bonds as the poster boy for steriods. Let's first find the man guilty of something before we chastise him.

We can believe what we want about people. It doesn't justify it or make it true.
I thought we live under the banner of fair and balance. But the more I realize it. It's a smokescreen and it isn't true. Americans are some the biggest hypocrites in the world.

No Bonds fan either. Baseball is boring

Asterisk.

Bonds is just a cry baby for being called out. I hope Ecko makes that t-shirt he mentioned in the article:
Ecko did not directly respond to Bonds' comments Wednesday, but said in a statement he would make Bonds a custom T-shirt that says, "Marc Ecko paid $752,467 for my ball, and all I got was this 'stupid' T-shirt."'

I said asterisk, he paid a lot for the ball, he should make it so when they see it in the HOF, they remember Bonds and Ecko

Ecko is a loser with nothing better to do with his money. I already voted for the ball to go to the Hall. Knowing his obvious bias I'm willing to bet that even if they vote unanimous for him to send the ball to the Hall that he will do his own cheating with the voting & will do it in the way he pleases.
