Who else feels that Bonds is wrong in saying what he did to Marc Ecko for buying the 756 baseball for $750000. Ecko is allowing the public to vote on what to do with it: 1. give it to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, 2.brand it with an asterisk before sending it to Cooperstown or 3.blast it into space on a rocket ship. The asterisk would represent bonds alleged steroid use. Bonds sayed that Ecko was an idiot for paying what he did for the ball. Why did Bonds care what the winning bidder did? It is legally Ecko's baseball now and he can do what he wants with it.

I would have given it back to Barry Bonds. I think Ecko is pretty dumb for paying that much for a ball as well. Man, the media hype something up and people just run with it, don't they? What people spend their money on nowadays is ridiculous. Sports memorabilia has just spun wildly out of control when it comes to prices!
Steriod use or not, the ball probably means the MOST to Bonds. Even if I was on steriods, I'd NEVER be able to hit a ball like that! People can call me a sap, but I would have given Bonds the ball. I'm not rich, but my principles are worth more to me than money...money just ruins the world.
Said my piece! Enjoy your day!

Mark Ecko is an idiot he should just give it too the baseball hall of fame. It's his ball though he can do whatever he wants with it in Bonds opinion why would you pay 750,000 dollars plus for a ball too ruin it either by marking it with an asterisk or by shooting it into space? Just doesn't make sense. Bonds is right he's a complete moron.

I don't think he's wrong, he's just voicing his opinion. Personally, I think what Ecko is doing is great that he's letting the fans decide what to do with this controversial ball, but at the same time, also pretty stupid, too. If you had $752 thousand, would you buy Bonds' ball? I have better ideas for it, like, oh, I don't know, buy a house. But, that's just MY opinion.

I do. If Bonds wanted an opinion on the issue, he either should have:
1) Asked for the ball.
2) Bought the ball.

It's an opinion. The man can't have an opinion on the subject? I mean, if you have $750K to throw away, Ecko can throw it in my direction. I have a much better use for it than to hold a public referendum on Barry's popularity.

Bonds is an overprivileged person who has a sense of entitlement and a poor attitude.
Maybe he 'earned' his record (most likely he didn't because of steroid use) but he certainly has earned a reputation for poor sportsmanship.
I think good sportsmanship needs to be added to the requirements for Hall of Fame entries.
