if the DA determines that the death was related to the robbery then new charges will be brought up and he will be re-arrested and he will have to go for another bond hearing where a judge will set a new bond or he could do away with it and give him no bond and remand him to jail until trial

Addition: For the poster below who said he dont know why it would matter. Well it matters becuase the severity of the crime affects the severity of the sentance thus a longer sentence or punishment increases the chance of flight. That is why trespassing is a 75.00 bond and more serious crimes are in the 100 of thousands. becuase a person facing 10 days in jail or a 100.00 fine is less likley to flee as compared to someone who is facing life in prision.

I don't see why they would. The main purpose for a Bond is to make sure that the accused will show up to court. In certain instances when the crime is more severe, the judge may believe that the person is more of a threat to the community and make the bond higher (even to a point where the judge knows it is not feasible for the suspect to pay). That being said, if Bruce died as an indirect result of the crime, it really doesn't change the threat to the community that O.J. will be. It doesn't change the chance he will hurt someone again. Although, if Bruce dies from a heart attack though (related to the robbery), his estate would have a very good wrongful death suit and probably a lot of other tort related civil suits.

That being said... the person above is correct when saying he would be re booked and charged under different crimes and then the judge can re-evaluate whether bond should be set. But I don't see why they would change it, unless it is a different judge with a different initial opinion of O.J.s risk to the community

If the victim of the robbery has a heart attack and dies and the lawyers can prove that the heart attack was directly related to the stress imposed upon him by the robbery, then the additional crime of felony murder would be added to the list of charges against the suspects. They would be brought back in to answer the new charges. It is possible that the bail would be revisited due to the new and more serious charges. That won't change the status of the bail on the lesser charges but a new bail hearing would be had on the new charges. It would be up to the judge to issue a higher bail amount or consider the flight risk factor sufficient to not issue bail at all.
