For an estranged husband to tell his 7 year old son to hit his mother with a cricket bat, call her a f*cking b*tch and a wh*re and to tell him to destroy another person's property, namely a bicycle? Or if he uses the 7 y/o to gain access to his estranged wife's flat and assaults her, punching her in the back of the head twice? Is it also an offence if the police and social workers know he has been doing this and refuse point blank to do anything to stop him or to stop him persistently harassing her with malicious phone calls including threats to make her lose her children, unlawfully removing them himself and violence against her? In the UK

Nice one MICKY T and some other good answers although he also threatened to break both our legs with a baseball bat. My 'lads' would probably pray for him though and say amen and ameen. Dont know whether this is good or bad and btw it was MY bicycle, well actually my son's... I only borrow it. It cost around $500 (£300).

Yes children often become bartering tools between warring couples. In the UK you can obtain an injunction and have visitation under supervision. The police do not get involved in domestics but where there is an injunction in place they can enforce it. Social workers will only get involved where there is a threat to the childs welfare and it has been reported. tell her to change her telephone number nuisance calls can be reported get number display so you can see who is calling

Aiding and abetting criminal behaviour is always an offence, regardless of the age of the perpetrator of the act itself.
7 y/o boy does as he is told, and is below age of reason - is not therefore committing an offence, but the father is. The culpability of police and social services is just another issue, and falls under the protection of minors act.

I can't speak for the UK, but in the USA I count several chargeable offenses, including child abuse, assault, threats, and telephone harassment. Don't go tho the social workers for help, go to the police.

It is a criminal offence to induce ANYBODY to commit violence against people or property. The authorities should take action...they can be challenged.

peacemaker, i have no faith in the law or justic system. even if it was criminal offence the police will not bother with it because the 7 year old did the damage. (except the beating) she needs to make a report, but please dont hold your breath!! i was arrested for defending my husband while 5 men tried to throw him over a balcony to his death. (long story) the men walked away that night without even being arrested!!
we need vigilantes in this country to rid the police and system in my opinion

yes it is a offence and its is also very cruel to the child . children should not be used in this way , she needs to get a restraining order against this men he has serious issues , and get that child away from him , if social services wont listen then make them , no child should be bought up around violence this is terrible , in fact tell the mum to get out and get help womans aid will help

Let's see.....contributing to the delinquency of a minor.....breaking and entering.....assault.....actual bodily harm.....harrassment......threatening behaviour......yup, I'd say there were criminal charges in there! Maybe you should go see a lawyer before this gets worse?

I split with my ex a number of years ago (seeing a mate behind my back) and never once did I tell my kids to do or say something I wasn't man enough to do/say myself.(when they weren't around)
People who tell their kids to say or do things to ex-partners etc are just extremely bad parents and shouldn't have access or parental responsibility for them.
Is it criminal ? I don't know, but I'd say its bloody immature and cowardly !!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus, the poor kid and woman.........
I wonder is it a criminal offence to get a couple of the lads round one night when he least expects it breaking his knee caps and blaming it on the cricket bat.
