I worked on a production of the Nutcracker for a ballet company. There is a female char in the production of extremely large proportion (pardon.. i'm not a ballet fan and don't recall the char name) The part was played by a man on plasterer's stilts which we rented from a local home construction rental shop. They are metal and about knee high with a good set of springs. Very stable.. MUCH easier to learn to walk on then regular "stilts". Hope it fits your budget and solves your Giant problem.
