The Indians have been overlooked and underrated all year long. Today they completed a 3 game sweep of the Tigers that all but gives them the division. It took until August for many people to figure out the Indians might just be in contention. It wasn't until earlier September that most people said they would go to the playoffs. I know most of you think they will be knocked out first round by whoever(and maybe they will)but we will have to wait and see. So for now, lets just sit back and give the Indians their credit. Agree?

I think we deserve alot of credit. This team has showed the determination and heart it takes to win a championship. The moment I realized this was when I was at the Jake for a series against the White Sox. It was early August, and the Tribe was down 11-2, and rallied to nearly erase an 11-2 deficit, but ended up losing 11-10. Still, the fact that a team doesnt give up after being down 9 runs says alot. This team has the players and pitching, as well as coaching it needs to win a Championship. I think the addition of Kenny Lofton, a longtime Indians star from the 90s who was instrumental in the Tribe going to the 95 and 97 WS, was a great move and gave them experience in the playoffs, because Kenny has been there, and would be a Champ had Jose Mesa not blown the save.

They have deserved credit for a long time. They are a small market team with a bunch of young guys. Everyone wants to talk about the Yankees and their offense, when pitching wins pennants. The Indians statistically have the best 3-man rotation in the majors. They are like 48-20. They have 2 legimate Cy Young candidates. Yes CC has a lower ERA and more strikeouts than Beckett. Both of them cannot win, obviously, but they are definately right in the race.

They deserve credit, but wont get it until they win the World Series. This team is built for the future. They will be contenders for the next 5 years, its like 1995 all over again... but they gotta resign Sabathia.. or Santana (yea rite!).

Hey Red, I don't want this team to have any credit given. If this Boston score holds we will have the best record in MLB. SILENTLY AND UN-NOTICED TOO. I want that. Underestimate them, please. I want all the focus and credit on NYY and Boston. Kind of like 1997 when all the focus was on NYY and Baltimore and the Indians slid into the playoffs beating both of those teams after a average 86 win regular season. The pitching matchups favor Cleveland in any series they will play. 2 aces. Not one. Two. Who else has that? Nobody in baseball comes close except for LAA. Beckett is a dominating force for Boston and a proven October winner. Lackey and Weaver are tough. Wang looks good-Clemens doesn't scare me a bit-his fastball is tailor made for Cleveland hitters. NYY has an awful damn good offense that will go against the best starting pitching in MLB. This will be a classic October -I want credit given once the Indians, if the Indians win 11 games in October. These guys have confidence and are as hot as you can be or want to be going into October. 5 game series favors Cleveland big time vs any opponent.

Yes we deserve the credit. I think that the Detroit Tigers also deserve credit for an action packed year full of lead changes and slumps for both teams. I hope next year the race will be just as close. But right now I'm celebrating because the Indians are in the playoffs again!!

GO TRIBE!

To be honest I didn't know Cleveland wasn't getting the credit. They certainly earned it this year. In years past, teams have lost the lead of the division whereas this year, Cleveland is winning the AL Central as opposed to other teams losing it. I respect the way they play and don't give up. However, they will need some luck as does every team come playoff time. Easily the AL has the 4 best teams in MLB right now, so whoever makes it to the World Series this year is certainly EARNING their way there.

The Indians deserve tons of credit, they saved the Red Sox from a close wild card and they saved the Yankees from a close wildcard as well. I could not imagine being on the Red Sox with a 4 game elad over the Tigers in these next 10 games. WHY CANT WE WIN!!!!????

The Indians are tied for the best record in the league right now.......like '95 and '97 the Indians spent a few years building up a young team to bring us back to the WS and this time get a ring......good luck Indians.

The Indians are within the top 5 teams in the MLB easily.

But, when you have a small market team they will be underrated no matter what. You have some team this year and I tip my cap to the Injuns.

P.S. Have you noticed youre tied with the Sox for best record in the MLB? GOOD JOB!

Yeah congratulations and good luck in the playoffs

You won a lot like the Tigers did last year. Solid starting pitching and 2 great setup men in Betancourt and Perez. Too bad Zumaya and Rodney were injured this year. Same goes for Sheff. And Kenny Rogers. And Bonderman. And Nate Robertson. And Andrew Miller. And Vance Wilson...

But yeah, injuries aside, you were the better team this year

Yes. As a Yankee fan I am thanking the Indians for putting the Tigers on a short leash. The magic number is dwindling and they are getting the short end of it.
