Maybe because you're not busy with what you'd like to do =P

Because none of the busy stuff actually provides any satisfaction. We are used to being told by the media and other outlets that 'busy is good'. Not always - take a walk in the country side, or sunbathe for half a day and then tell me you've been busy - you've not, but after doing things like that you often feel fulfilled. What most people want is a sense of satisfaction or contentment in regard to what they have done - just 'being busy' often means you fill up your life with meaningless crap that holds no real interest to you - thus the feelings of boredom - nothing you have done has satisfied or stimulated you.

Boredom is a pretty high state of being, linked to the condition we call "Normal". Appreciating what you have, and continuing to practice what got you there will lead to the improved state of Affluence, or "Conservatism", -- otherwise known as acceptance. From there you can move on up to Enthusiasm and find challenges to enjoy -- so much easier when you are more sure that what you have is indeed yours, and safe!

As someone once told me, "If you're concerned about whether the glass is half empty or half full, what you need for the moment is a smaller glass."

Busy doesn't equate to interesting. If you are like me, routines can get tedious and the mind tends to wonder. I never really bet bored as I always find distractions, but I can totally relate to being disinterested in what is going on right now.

Me too.
Maybe you are very busy doing things for other people, and very full of the daily grind. Perhaps this leaves little time to pursue things that truly interest you. Perhaps you don't have a soul mate who shares your interests or at least wants to hear you talk about them.
Oh, life goes on...

Socially, we are taught boredom is wrong. As a result, most people cannot tolerate even a moment of boredom. By not learning to like boredom, we often find drama and intrigue in our lives.

Busyness avoids boredom. Boredom surfaces when the mind or the body has nothing to do. boredom and depression are also connected in Eastern philosophies like Buddhism.

My encouragement -- relax, put your feet up and enjoy the boredom. If you learn to like boredom, the chaos in life will start to decline.
