I need to write three paragraphs about three different kinds of everyday junk food.

We have to write about what makes them so appealing to people, why they taste good, and why they are horrible for you (bad ingredients in it ect.)

I don't even know what foods I should use or anything.
I'm not asking you to write my essay, I just need some ideas.

Thanks!

Potato chips, soda, and doughnuts are among the worst offenders. I bet you find plenty about these junk foods using Google.

Cheers,
Bruce

By definition, junk foods are those which are not nutritious, but ones we feel compelled to eat for various reasons. Generally they have a high suger content, a high salt content, a high fat content, a potpourri of chemical additives or several of the above.
You might limit your choice of junk foods to ones that are already grouped together. Go to the nearest snack vending machine and describe the foods you see and expand your paragraphs from there.
Or you might look at eye level at any place that sells junk food, such as convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, drug stores or dollar stores.
Think about how the foods appeal to your different senses, sight, taste, smell, touch, and sound. There is so much material here for your essay, the trick will be keeping short enough.
(A funny way to tackle the subject might be to choose ones that market themselves as "healthy," or "low fat," or "low sodium." The difference between these and regular junk foods are very little.)

Well first pick 3 foods, like star-bursts, M&M's, pringles, doughnuts... You can write one paragraph about each or you can write a paragraph about each question (paragraph 1: the three foods, paragraph 2: why they are good, paragraph 3: why they are bad).

Next, what makes them soooooo yummy? Is it the sugar? Do we buy them because Michel Jordan is on the front? Because all your friends eat them? Because you see the advertisements?

Now do a little research about those foods. Do they contain too much salt? Sugar? Fat? Caleries? Maybe they give bad breath, are bad substitutes for healthier foods, fatten people up, ruin tastebuds for good foods...

I hope this gives you a place to start, good luck!

That's what I would do. I'm in college and have been getting A's and B's on most of my papers.

try fast food and how it is made and how it is cooked and also
look at the color of the decor some of them has certain colors mentally (subliminally) that make you go to that restaurant

and check out the junk food that you get in a typical convenience store like 7/11, all junk food is at eye level or lower for a typical kid, and check out the price some of the
junk foods are cheap in price so that you can get a complete meal around ten dollars for one person

one regular Coke has 7 tablespoons of sugar... equal to 4 chocolate donuts It also contains caffeine

fast food... laden with trans fat that clog up your arteries so blood can't get through

salt... too much raises blood pressure and high blood pressure can cause a stroke

Why do people like them... it's like an addiction. They love the taste and the " sugar high" from Cokes. Same with fatty foods and salty foods. Food doesn't tase good without them because they never try food in its natural state... like a baked potato without any butter, baked potato, or cheese

OK. Define Junk food. Usually fast food eg. Burgers, fries, Pizza, KFC or similar. Appeal: Cheap, quick, tasty. Advertised as family food (here in UK anyway).
Not sure why they taste good - they just do.
Bad for you cos of additives, salt, too many cabohydrates etc.
Hope this helps.

1. Candy - its targeted toward children - the packaging, colorful ads, different shapes, sometimes the candy has little toys, and marketing techniques.
2. Soda - just like candy, children are the main target. It comes in so many flavors, and the packaging is appealing to kids (small bottles, cans, colorful drinks), sometimes the ads feature superheroes and other marketing strategies.
3. Chips, ice cream, cookies etc - appealing to kids, packaging (features cartoon characters, flavors such as bubble gum, cotton candy, and small "cute" packets)

One thing that came to mind is the new Mountain Dew that is labeled for Halo 3 (the video game) as "game fuel." They're using a popular video game to market an unhealthy drink (and they're probably marketing it mostly to kids or at least teens... teens are probably the majority of Halo players).

Think about what junk foods you like.

Candy? Chips? Pizza? Soda? Fast food?

They're easy to prepare, cheap, and readily available. Also, it doesn't expire as fast as fruits and veggies.
