Cooking removes alcohol from the food, so no I wouldn't consider it child abuse at all.

I think that might be the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. Having grown up in Wisconsin (a place where beer battered anything is the norm) I can assure you first hand that there are plenty of happy, chubby little kids out there contently gnawing their walleye on a Friday night fish fry.

With that being said, alcohol cooks out of foods/batters/etc. during the cooking (in this case frying) process and the flavor of the beer (sans the alcoholic content) is left. Same with cooking wines, etc.

A better question would be is it child abuse to let your children eat so much beer battered (=fried) foods that you're even thinking it could be abuse in the first place.

No, beer battered anything is not going to contain alcohol. When you cook using beer, wine or any other alcohol the alcohol burns off during the cooking process.

No beer battered or marinated food is not the same as drinking alcohol. It's used for flavor, the same as using wine in certain dishes.

The alcohol cooks out, so you really aren't giving the child alcohol. So no, not abuse.

no, that's not child abuse. the alcohol is cooked away in the cooking process. there's nothing to worry about. just a taste is left over, nothing that can/will harm the child(ren) who eats it....

Even if it did'nt get cooked out, which is highly un-likely, there can't be that much in it and maybe it'll quiet the lil' effer's down for like 2 seconds, Pleeeease!
