HELP how do you convert these!?

Question

2. convert 3 feet to centimeters
3) convert 3.5 lb. to grams

using fractions
ex.
984 ft = 12 in/1 ft = 11808
i just dont know how to do it for this

The conversion factor for inches to centimetres is 1 inch = 2.54 cm.

In three feet there are 12 inches to one foot
So there are 12 x 3 = 36 inches in 3feet.
36 x 2.54 = 91.44 cms. (in 3 feet)

The conversion factor for lbs to grams is 1 lb = 453.6gms

So in 3.5 lbs there is :-
3.5 x 453.6 = 1587.6 grams.

.NB Conversion factors are often found in diaries.

984 ft/1 ft = x ins/12ins
By algebraic manipulation
984ft x 12 ins/1 ft = 11808 ins.
NB The units of 'feet' cancel out leaving 984 x 12 ins.. The '1' on the bottom of the fraction is trivial, but must be written in to make in a multiplication of fractions, otherwise the conversion factor may be wrong.
