If you are never more than 12 hours late taking your pill, then it continues to be 99.6% effective at preventing pregnancy. You may find that you get some breakthough bleeding if you take it more than four hours late a couple of days in a row, or are 10 hours late one day, but you are still protected against pregnancy.

If you were taking a progestrogen-only pill then you only have three hours, but all combined pills can be taken up to 12 hours late without having to take any extra precautions.

Yasmin Birth Control Effectiveness

How effective is the Pill in preventing pregnancy?
With perfect use, meaning that the Pill is taken at the same time every day, exactly as directed, the Pill is more than 99% effective. With typical use, meaning that the Pill is not always taken exactly as directed, the Pill is more than 95% effective. When pregnancy does occur while on the Pill, it's usually because the Pill was not taken as prescribed.

Certain things can temporarily change the effectiveness of the Pill. For example, being on antibiotics, St. John's Wort, or certain seizure medications can reduce the Pill's effectiveness. Vomiting and diarrhea can also negatively affect pregnancy protection with the Pill. If you require any of these medications or have experienced any of these physical symptoms, it is essential that you immediately speak with your healthcare professional. You should also use a backup method of birth control, such as condoms or spermicide.

Heard yaz is pretty good. It is a low dose hormonal pill when compared to yazmin (which now has a generic yay). It may also reduce your cramps and bloating. Loestrin24 is also a very good pc pill because it reduces your period to 3 days.

Yasmin and Yaz are different birth control pills. (just for your info)

I have been on many birth control pills and Yasmin was my favorite pill. It is very effective, as long as you don't skip a day or go more that 4 hours difference.

For me it had the least amount of side effects.

yasmin and yaz are 2 totally different pills.
if taken correctly they are 96% effective....
i really dont think anyone takes the pill at the same exact time every single day.... you just play w/ fire when you dont take it correctly. you can get pregnant if not taken correctly.
i would say as long as you dont miss any pills (24 hours or longer w/o one) you should be ok

You should still use a condom every time. BCP's aren't 100% effective even when taken spot-on.
Plus, condoms help protect against STD's.
