I need some serious help because I dont know the first thing about cars.

So the van is leaking water. I parked the van today 5 different times and each time there was a very small puddle of water. The fluid is water. I want to know if there is anything I can do in order to not take it to the machanic? Also, under which cap does the water go in, what does the top of the cap say? Also I have not used the A/C in about a month or 2.

I went to go check on the van and there is no puddle now. Just this morning while I was driving it.

Also it has not rained in days, if that means anything.

The leak is coming out from the passenger side.

Are you running the air conditioning? All cars leak condensation from the AC when you stop. It's perfectly normal.

eIf you were my sister I would have you buy Bars - Leak all major auto parts store carry it. By the size of leak you describe it fits the bill without looking at it. Most radiator caps are dead center and closest to you when standing in front of the engine. Only open when cool - overnight. This product really does work well for small leaks. Only ones it won't stop are any that ar in the two rubber hoses that are present. Go to the auto parts store and ask the guy to show and explain Bars Leak to you.

Well the evaporator core leaks water well built up moisture out of the vent tube sometimes you get it from the muffler there is a small hole drilled in the muffler to keep the moisture out to prevent rusting the muffler internally.

first thing is first, find exactly were the water is coming from because you don't want to start buying stuff thinking it's going to fix it when it could be as easy as tighting the clamp or maybe somthing else. its hard to say what it is without checking every possible possibility. people who know nothing about cars just start buying stuff that may or may not be of use, always check, find, then buy what is needed.

Could be a water pump.

You might consider taking it to a Napa or Auto Zone and ask one of the salesmen to help you. Works for me.

You can also go to your local tech school or high school and ask if they have an autoshop class that would be willing to look at it for you.
