You cannot download a DVD burner, it's a function of the drive itself. If you have a DVD player on your computer, you'd have to purchase a DVD writer and replace it with the player... The writer would still play DVDs, it would also write to them

A DVD burner is hardware, not software. You would need to buy a burner.

if your computer does not have a burner you will have to buy and install it. the DVD burner drive will come with its own software

Download.com has dozens or fantastic tools for this depending on exactly what you need, try there.
Otherwise go to www.newegg.com and buy a copy of Nero OEM Toolkit, thats a fantastic program for DVD authoring, I use it myself for basic projects.

Google Burn4Free...it has minor adds (plain text/coloured backgrounds, embedded but not animated, and does nothing to the output...) but burns just about everything. I would prefer one without the adds, but this is the best i've found so far!

i take it your talking about the actual program. go to www.download.com and search for them. some are free and some arent just try them out.
