Looks like the good people of America have finally come home, after being negatively influenced by the Democrats and their hate for the USA.

Welcome home everybody, glad you finally came back! (45% and rising!)

We're winning the war. The economy is booming. All is good.

Bad days for libs.

Oh, how's that 11% approval working out for ya', Ms Pelosi?

Ah, I love it! When polls show approval ratings are down, conservatives question the validity of the polls. When they show approval ratings up, liberals question the validity of the polls.

Look, people, its simple: The surge seems to be working, for now. The president has tentatively made plans for some withdrawals next year. This is enough to sway some people.

Personally, I haven't approved of the president since he got us in this mess in the first place. However, I agreed with him over the surge. Ultimately, we don't need to "fix" Iraq, we just need to suppress the problem areas long enough to properly train Iraq's security forces. I'm sure King George wants more out of this than that, however--the establishment of permanent bases gives insight into that--but nonetheless, let's not lie to ourselves about why a poll says what it says. And you know what else? As much as I'd love to see Bush gone, I won't be angry if we find a measure of success in Iraq. I will respectfully admit that I was wrong, and be thankful for it. That being said, I think we ultimately will fail in Iraq.

I was wondering if you read the actual questions asked, and the way popularity is calculated. Among other things, Congress' numbers have gone up far more significantly than Mr. Bush's (from 24 to 32%).

I think the quality of this poll is best summed up in question four: in a list of Democratic and Republican candidates for President, Oprah Winfrey has by far the highest approval ratings (68%).

Enough said.

Cheers.

People will say it's because Fox News is a right wing media corporation, or whatever trash talk people like to make up. But after reading this article, I agree with the part where they say that it might have had something to do with the time period the poll was taken. Right around the anniversary of 9/11 and the Bin laden tapes, and Labor day, when citizens are more likely to feel patriotic. I'm in that percentage that approves, though I don't feel we've made significant progress, at least we are making progress.

The story you linked to says this : "The latest FOX News poll shows that while President Bush’s job rating remains low and a majority of Americans disapproves of his performance, his approval rating is up this week to its highest level in five months. Today 37 percent of Americans say they approve of the job Bush is doing, up from 33 percent last month, and 58 percent disapprove."

37% is not 45%. Did you read the story? This means that 63% still think he's doing a lousy job. This is hardly "skyrocketing approval." I realize that good news is rare for the President's supporters, but continuing his habit of distorting the truth isn't going to help. Shame on you.

You're statement has no credibility because it is Fox News. Fox News is a conservative media outlet.

Actually, I read an article today that said:
"Public approval ratings: President Bush: 29%. Congress: 11%.

That is the result of a recent Zogby Poll."

And seeing how it shows Congress' low ratings, I'm going to say that it is an unbiased news source. And since it comes from AOL-TIME Warner on top of that (a conservative company)...I think my postulations are correct.

So, welcome home to reality! Glad you finally came around. (hopefully)

"Today 37 percent of Americans say they approve of the job Bush is doing, up from 33 percent last month, and 58 percent disapprove."

That is a direct quote from the article you linked to.

What's funny is that it demonstrates what I call the "Bush Effect". Bush is constantly pointing to abysmal results in Iraq and touting them as "progress" or "success" or "hopeful", yadda yadda.

It's gotten to the point where GOP dorks like you see an approval rating of 37% and start dancing in the streets! Funny!

Some people will remain gullible for their whole lives. It doesn't take a giant brain to realize that GW is the worst president this country has ever had the misfortune to have had. I'm not a Liberal , but this is how a lot of Repubs feel.

You have an extremely skewed perception of reality, and you have my pity.

Anyway, I do not consider myself a liberal, for when it comes to fiscal policies, I am quite conservative; however people like yourself would probably consider me a liberal.
To answer your question, Bush has proven he can do what he wants when he wants and he can get away with it. It doesn't matter if his approval rating is 2% or 92%, so all in all, I don't care anymore.
