Rather's complaint stems from "CBS' intentional mishandling" of the aftermath of a discredited story about President George W. Bush's time in the Texas Air National Guard.

Rather was so eager to bring down Bush that he forgot his own professionalism and paid a heavy price for it. Now, he's a marginalized whiner that desperately wants to salvage his reputation. He will not succeed.

I hope so if story was given light of day many people would still be alive because bush would have been booted. If he wins s Rather should donate some of it to help the soldier's maimed in the coward's war

He may.

Actually it was the perjury of one woman who maintained that GSA had not supplied the champaign squadron with IBM Selectric typewriters that cause Mr, Rather to be "fired". Records show that she had been issued an IBM Selectric II.
Typical bush-davidian lie.

Mr. Rather may very well win, and should.

no.

rather's suit states that cbs owes him money and violated their contract with him.

the rest is incidental, but it sure will be interesting to see bush's (ahem) military service scrutinized under a microscope.

that way, we'll once again get to see what a brave brave guy he was during vietnam...

It was his mishandling not theirs. No I don't think he will win. They may settle just to be done with him but he can't win in court.

Nope, he quit voluntarily. He knew he had done wrong and therefore quit.
