It's too cute, sexy, and commertial. Where's the scare? lolz And I don't think terrorists will attack random small neighborhoods. People are idiots if they think so.

It's origins were for demons, then people said, "Hey, let's be creative!" or the parents said,"I don't want my kid dressing up like a monster." Churches said,"Even though it's a Christan holiday we don't want it celebrating demons and witches." That's why it's not scary any more. Little kids want to be Fairy Princesses or cute vampires, school rules are against masks, fake blood, or anything to scary, epically Elementary and school near elementary schools. People want to impress lovers and be whoever they want. My mom isn't ugly and she was wearing normal clothes but she scared trick or treaters. People who sell costumes saw Halloween as a chance for making money, and that's really the only time costume stores make money. Then big commercial places like Wal Mart took the business away so there are only small costume stores and temporary Halloween stores. The sexy part is only because girls think,"Hey, it's the perfect time to meet sexy guys and I have an excuse to walk through town with this on!"
It's still fun for me, but this year I'm going to be the Angel of Death so yeah.

It started to die down because of people who did things like put razor blades in apples or inject drugs into candy. Safety became a serious factor. Terrorists aren't the big threat here, the neighborhood pedophile or murderer is. Also there are a lot of people on fixed incomes that can't afford to supply candy to the neighborhood kids. Especially with the cost of candy these days.

I thought it was getting bigger... among adults, anyway.

It does seem to be diminishing among kids, which is too bad. we don't trust each other anymore (and only sometimes for good reason)
