Really doesn't matter, although it might be easier to keep track of who spent what with separate accounts.

The most important thing is that both accounts are paid on time. Paying in full every month is the best way. Save interest and keeps you out of debt.

As one responder said, a big factor in your decision will be both of your credit scores, especially if you think you will carry a balance on the card. A person with a lower credit score may get a card with a higher interest rate and is more likely to have a lower credit limit on the card.

I recommend getting your wife a separate credit card so she can build her credit history and both of you can have your own accounts. You never know what the future may hold; having your own cards could make things easier down the road in case of financial or other problems.

Good luck.

It depends on your credit scores and her scores. Whomever has the higher scores is the one that should have the credit in their name. If her scores are lower then you can help her by putting her on your card, but keep in mind that it works both ways....yours could also go down. If its just a matter of convenience, I would say keep one account, make her an authorized user.
