Is it? I am 11 and my parents (I know they are santa) for christmas said I could get an ipod touch. Because it is only 300 and my little 7 year old sister is getting a shuffle. And my parents said I cant get a cellphone until I'm 13 like a million times. Is this ipod touch a phone? Because if its a phone I cant have it and I really want it!!!

but seriously, it is the exact same thing with no phone service or text messaging.
It still does have wifi internet access, though.
and you can buy songs directly on the Touch. (wifi access required)

No it isn't. The iPod Touch Is Strictly An iPod. It Doesn't have any cellular telephone capabilities. I've supplied links below to show your parents for verification direct from the manufacturer. Good Luck!

nope... its an iphone without the phone... great for me cuz i didn't want to pay 60 bucks a month for one phone... so now im keeping my phone and getting the ipod touch... =D the only difference is no phone no camera and its a wee smaller... but pretty close...

no the ipod touch is not a phone. the ipod touch is exactly like the iphone, minus the phone so youll be able to get it :D. have fun with your new ipod :D

It's not a phone but it's not worth it's price, I would get the nano if I were you.
