to be dying, do I need to cut these back now the weather is changing, they are about 3' tall and 3.5' diameter. Will they come back. I live in Florida, so we dont get too cold. thanks

okay I live in florida as well and they need to be in the ground so they can full bush out so to speak . I love butter cups I have one and my neighbors have em so we all have them in the ground and they like full sun dear so get those things in the ground . good luck .

I live in WI, so I don't know what actual flower that is. If they are an annual, they will die after one season regardless of what you do. If they are perennials, you should find out whether they go dormant over the winter or continue to flower.

If you don't KNOW which one they are, I would just deadhead the spent flowers, keep the plant watered as normal, and see what happens.
