The issue of race will always be around, at least for the next 50 years. Color does have a part to play in most criminal cases where blacks are concerned. Weather OJ did it or not is not the issue here for most. People are upset b/c they figured that someone has to pay for the murder of a white man and woman. He was involved and he should have paid for his part in it.
If my feelings are that he is guilty, it makes no difference b/c he was acquitted. Most of the people that were incarcerated for the rape of a white woman that were black males are being released b/c of DNA evidence that proved them innocence. So to be ignorant and say that color has no part in this case would be saying that the sky is orange.

It seems like when people are too lazy or ignorant to look up the facts and discover real information for themselves, racism comes in. It's easier to just decide something on the basis of race than to really find out whether it's true or not. (I'm referring more to racism in general than the O.J. trial - the more racist the person, the more ignorant they are, invariably!)
O.J.'s murder trial did become a race trial, and I blame his evil-brilliant team of lawyers. The way they turned it around is genious, but should never have been allowed to happen. There are racist cops in America, and racism in the judicial system (Jena 6 - perfect example!). Johnny Cochran made O.J. the symbol for every injustice that has happened to black people in the legal system, and that's why there was a racial divide. The trial should have only been about the murder of two innocent people, and it should have been color-blind.
I wish somebody would make the Jena 6 trial a symbol for racial injustice - those boys do not deserve such a heavy charge. But 6 high-school kids from Louisiana can't afford Johnnie Cochran.

there was certainly a racial element to it - I've encountered white people who use the OJ trail a "proof" that the system, in general, give the average African American a fair chance at a trial.
I did not follow the OJ trial; I tried to tune it out. The hysteria around it was appalling, and I still don't understand why a single murder warrants so much attention when dozens/hundreds go on in regions closer to home and no one bats an eyelid. Is it just that OJ was a celebrity? No.

This much is obvious: Too many people are polarised on the OJ issue because of skin colour. The truth doesn't seem to be anywhere near as important. This is messed up.
I think the fact that he was a known public figure and sports personality might have a lot to do with the media coverage. I think that makes it much more sensational than the colour of Nicole's skin ever could.

No. Whites would not have cared if Nicole or Ron were Black. There would not be so much outrage. Everyone knows this and they do also; trouble is, they'll lie about it and dance around it "lathering in" any available off-the-shelf excuse they can to thwart self-driven hatred off their shoulders.
Though I do believe O.J. is guilty, still there was something good that came out of that trial; Black jurors ruled and O.J's money bought even a guilty Black man a heavenly defense. After Black people went on being slaughtered by bigot whites for centuries, they always bought a crafty defense to "get them off" from all their atrocities.
What was refreshing was to see that O.J., a Black man could buy his own defense and with excellent results. That's what whites are angry about. They just don't get it. I do think that he should go down for murdering two people though, but look at the bright side. Pretty awesome, huh?

OJ's friend was being interview on Fox News. He said that people need to believe in the American justice system. In that case can we agree on the statement "OJ killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman but did not commit a crime". See, the justice system acquitted him of the murder charges but found him liable for their deaths in a separate trial.

Putting all racism aside, you must admit that black or not, O.G's actions are those of an idiot! He's played right into police hand's, has'nt he? We all know that he 's been a bit of a 'marked' man since he got off that murder charge, and what does he do? he put's himself in harm's way, again! Will he ever learn? He's a fool to himself! Have a great day.

Another victim mentality conspiracy theory....
Look up Mel Ignatow. Same general story. Same animosity and hatred towards him. Same injustice that was later turned to slight justice due to utter disgust and follow up on the case. Guess what? He's white. Save your story for those that choose to limit their world view to minority victim stories. The rest of us like wine, not whine, with the sustenance we digest.

Why can't people realize that O.J. got away with double murder 13 years ago, & that people should go to prison for killing innocent people? O.J. is finally going to get his punishment for his crimes.
