I'm 15w 2d pregnant, is it normal to hear the heartbeat in two completely different spots??? Baby should be measuring about 4.5inches and I heard a heartbeat on each side of my belly! Is that normal?

its actually really normal depending how you mean did you use a Doppler?was it yourself hearing this or your ob
i had a Doppler and when i was using it i heard sounds on both sides both very clear heartbeats
but i have now had 2 scans and only one baby in there
it could be an echo from either the placenta or your own heartbeat(easily done)or it could be what ever you used is sensitive to pick up the heartbeat on either side
baby's heartbeat should be between 130-150bpm guide only can be quicker but it sounds faster than your own heartbeat

Yeap that sounds like a good strong heartbeat. My sons heartbeat was around 160-170. Congrats!

lol unless you're having twins.

here's the answer: yes it's normal. but i do not know why. i just got a baby beat fetal heart tone doppler and after reading the instructions it said that it is normal to hear the heart beat in two different places, but it doesn't say why!

the babies heartbeat can be heard in the cord as well, so it could be thats what you were hearing.
