Fonz - he spent 2 hours in the hospital and went to a social function that night. His friends reported that he seemed fine.
No one is saying these boys shouldn't answer for beating up that kid. But the white kids who beat up the black kid got misdemeanor assault charges. The Jena six are facing second-degree attempted murder! That doesn't seem off to you? If the kid was in a coma hanging on to life, I would say yeah, charge them with attempted murder. He got treated and released, and these kids might spend half their lives in jail.
To answer the question - I'm sure some of you who repeat the "pride not prejudice" mantra really believe it, but with the racist violence that has been going on in Jena for the last year it doesn't really make it look too good. Why would they be hanging Confederate flags, if they're not trying to stand against the black community?

Because they can. They will be seen on national tv as racist bigots.
It is evident, the government won't stop the hatred that is being spewed in this town.
I'll just watch it all unfold on CNN. This town will be international news within the next 72 hours!
So whatever misguided things these individuals choose to do, they will be exposed!

i will be in jena tomorrow in support of the protest. we are leaving tonight. it is wrong what they did. they are hanging flags because they do not support the march. nevertheless its a good look because if just shows the world that they really ARE racist people in that town.
they now they were wrong for doing that to those 6 boys and we will march for whats right! email me with more info.
