Dont Know what it is
Once again, in a continuing effort to sneak measures past the American public that will empower and grant amnesty to illegal aliens, Stealth Senators are now actually – and amazingly - willing to slide an immigration amendment to a Department of Defense authorization bill (HR 1585) that will accomplish just that, and they are poised to vote on it this week. This amendment is sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and is officially Senate Amendment 2237, otherwise known as the DREAM Act

100 % YES
#1 - Stop using the ******* word amnesty. THIS IS EARNED. You have to DO things.
#2 - NO ONE IS SNEAKING IT. They aren't doing it in the middle of the night in a cloaked disguise.. it's on CSPAN for christ's sakes.. and Thomas.loc ..
#3 - WTF how is it POSSIBLY going to allow "other people to come here" read the damn bill it's for KIDS who are ALREADY here. You don't even know what you are SAYING
#4 - KIDS DO NOT BREAK LAWS. PERIODS. Kids get absolved of any other crimes. And kids don't get charged for ANY other crime of their parents.
BTW - I'm white and a citizen. And I do not support 12 million amnesty. But I support this bill 200000 %. And ONLY this bill.

It sickens me that there is such a push, against the will of the majority, to allow these criminals to be here. There is a working process in place for those that want to come to the U.S. I have no problem with immigration, just not the illegal kind.
What I don’t get is how people are so hellbent on screaming that these are good people that should be allowed to live here, regardless of how they came. They broke a law by sneaking in. They most of them use stolen ID info to get by. Many of the commit crimes while they are here. They drive w/out a license or insurance, they don’t know the laws, and don’t care. They bring poverty with them, transplanting it to this country. They bleed social programs dry, causing stress on medical facilities and schools. They don’t want to learn the language, and demand everything be catered to them.
These senators should be tarred and feathered. They do this hoping to suddenly pick up millions of votes once they sneak this through, so don’t care about the voices of those that are screaming out to stop this. Sickens me, especially since I’m in IL.

No, I don't. Truth is though, this ploy has been used for a long time now to sneak bills through that would normally not pass. It's called a "rider" and is a tactic used by both parties.

Absolutely not! It is just another attempt to allow amnesty for illegal immigrants. This is a sneaky attempt to pass the amnesty bill while using "education incentive" as the catchphrase for ir.

I have a better question for you...
I thought your candidate was supposed to be the "no amnesty candidate" tough on illegals.. thats kind of hard when he approves something where the employers don't even know whether or not their employees are illegal??
Here you go straight from The Washington Times.. "But on immigration, Mr. Thompson had several votes where he bucked the pack — and seemed to favor illegal aliens.
The most stark example was his 1995 vote on the welfare overhaul, when he voted to preserve illegal aliens' ability to receive federal benefits. He was one of just six senators to vote that way, joining four other Republicans and one Democrat.
And in 1996, as Congress considered a crackdown on illegal aliens, Mr. Thompson voted against setting up a system so employers could verify the legal status of their workers."

Yes. This does not grant amnesty to all illegals, but only to those who were brought as children by their parents (as if those children actually had a choice in the matter). Not only that, but there are strict provisions that must be followed for such immigrants to be granted legal status. I see no harm in it.
What's interesting to note is that the Dept of Defense is actually behind this 100%. After all, they need more fodder for the battlefield.

Oh and to "fairly smart"s comment, you say it was the Bush administration trying to do this, you do realize a Democrat sponsored this bill right?

No I don't. It's those sleazy, underhanded liberals trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes again. The commies will cry and blame Bush, but they'll sit back and watch it happen and do nothing.

I think it is appropriately named. Maybe it should be amended to "Wet Dream Act" If people knew about it, they would be up in arms.
Thanks to OJ, people are probably going to miss it.
Another reason to hate OJ.
