For old romantic movies with adventure, you can't go wrong with Gone with the Wind or Casablanca. If you'd like a bit of film noir, check out Double Indemnity.

Love Actually, A collection of romantic stories and adventures they go thru to meet each other.
It has Hugh Grant and Kira Knightly. I love Guy movies but maybe once a year I will pop that in.

1. "Casablanca" -- Currently #3 on the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest Films. Rick owns a nightclub in Casablanca and discovers his old flame Ilsa is in town with her husband, Victor Laszlo. Laszlo is a resistance leader, and with Germans on his tail, Ilsa knows Rick can help them get out of the country - but will he? It's got a great story line, a little bit of action and suspense.
2. "Roman Holiday" -- Princess Anne is on a publicity tour in Rome, and is tired of her restrictive schedule. One night Anne sneaks out of her room, falls asleep on a public bench, and is found by Joe, an American newspaper reporter. Joe promises his editor an exclusive interview with the princess, but how can spend the day with her without her finding out he's a reporter? A very cute story and characters.
3. "It Happened One Night" -- Socialite Ellie recently married King Wesley, but her wealthy father has it annulled. Tired of her father's control, she runs away headed for New York. On the bus she meets street-smart reporter Peter Warne. They end up traveling together as Warne hopes to get a great story, and Ellie needs his worldly help. Nearing New York, with their many adventures coming to an end, they find that they are reluctantly in love and afraid to admit it to each other. After she mistakenly thinks that Warne has run out on her Ellie returns to King Wesley, but for how long? A very cute story, similar to "Roman Holiday," but involves a lot more comedy.

Sabrina. Both versions are good, but I like the one with Audrey Hepburn better. For adventure, maybe I'd go with the old Errol Flynn Robin Hood.
