a decent leather flip case... Don't want to scratch the thing! (it is quite robust, but it still needs protecting).

Better yet, how about an ITrip? Made by Griffin Technologies... It plugs in the dock port and transmits the Ipod music on a radio frequency so you can tune in your car radio to listen to the Ipod... No messy cables or extra batteries...

You can get all this stuff on Ebay for way less than in stores too...

the only factor that i ought to have is that this wall charger that I very own. For some reason it did no longer cost my previous iPod classic yet when I rexieved my new 2d era iPod touch it costs! i take advantage of the charger instead of the laptop because of the fact i do no longer choose to cost my ipod and go away my laptop on. I in basic terms plug it in if i'm desiring a music on it. yet different than that for the duration of happy I actual have this charger. :)

First off, dont get a iPod classic, the music skips, the menu's lag, and everything is bad about them. Second, get him one of the new iPod docking stations if he is getting an iPod. Also, the wall charger. Thats what I have.

good headphones like Bose, JVC, or SkullCandy
and a car adapter.

good headphones are around $50 and up for in-ears or starting at about $125 for good set of (for lack of a better term) "big type ones."

Car adapters start at around $15, and you can intergrate the controls into the dash controls for about $100

Transpod.

t emits an FM signal to your stereo so you can listen to it over any FM radio. It comes with an attachment so you can plug it into your auto cigarette lighter which powers and charges the iPod.

I take it with me everytime I drive.
