I understand the chemical reaction that fire is but i dont how what the actual flame is!

Plasma maybe?

Not a plasma because it is not hot enough to ionize the gas. It is just gas hot enough to glow with a mixture of very small hot solid particles (soot)

The actual flame is a luminous gas. The fire is a chemical reaction (exothermic oxidation).

Yes, a plasma, techically. The reaction is just fast oxidation which it sounds like you know anyway.
