Go to your local public library. Ask the librarian for a Timeline book on history. You didn't specify if was U.S. History or European History, Asian History, Latin American History, etc.

Anyway, once you have the book(s) sit down and look through them using the dates you have. You will find lots of references.

You will learn something along the way and you will have done your own homework!

1776 - america becomes independent

thats always a nice thought. do your own homework. america's forefathers did not fight for independence so a kid could ask for homework on yahoo answers. or maybe they did.
