I have 16 red wag platy babys at about 1.4cm long each, two Gold Lyretail Molly fry about 1.7cm long each, and 6 (remaining) blue paradise gourami babies about 0.8cm long each. The mollies and platys are all between 6-8 weeks old and the gouramis are about 8 weeks old.

1. How long does it usualy take for a molly fry to reach fully grown status?

2. For Platys?

3. And Gouramis?

4. If the fry grow large enough to be larger than the largest mouth of my fish (in the main tank) would it be safe to put them in with the other fish?

5. Would the gouramis have a greater survival rate and/or bettert health if they are born and remain in their own tank, or in a breeding net/box?

PLEASE ONLY ANSWER THE QUESTIONS I ASK, DONT GIVE RANDOM INFORMATION UNLESS IT PERTAINS TO THEM!

The rate of growth depends on the food, temperature of the water, the tank size and food. I had 1 baby molly left alive. He went from a tiny baby to about an inch in 4 months. He was in a 20 gal. with guppies.

For the other fish, if it is possible, leave them in their home and try to remove the parents. Fish at this young age stress out very easily.

And as long as the are about the same size, yes it is safe to reintroduce the babies to their parents/tank mates. But you also have to watch for inbreeding. I kept females in 1 tank and males in another. Also watch your filter system. Mine sucked the babies up. I know it wasn't much help, but good luck with your new babies. :)

Well it depends on different factors. But i have a 3 month old guppy fry and it is about 3 cm, and i have a 1 month old fry which is about 1-1.5 cm.
