When you have sunk your every movement into a belief (such as The McCanns are Guilty of Murder").

The it would support your myopic view if the McCanns were destitute and not able to afford a top lawyer.

As this is not the case, we will now suffer a deluge of comments about how they shouldn't be using this or that lawyer. Or how such and such a lawyer is a turd because they defended such and such.

If they believe their is a chance they may be proved wrong, then they will pre-empt the case results by stating that their is anomalies in the defence.

I could care less who they hire for lawyers...I would however be interested in the PI's they should be hiring to find their daughter. I might even be willing to donate to that fund.

I have a problem with it because I think they're being badly advised from a public opinion point of view. Great to have good lawyers but all their new team appear to be linked to mass murder and terrorism. You're completely right, in their circumstances you would want a good lawyer, obviouslyl, but maybe from a slightly less controversial background. Their present PR guy was the one that advised them on visiting the pope and that also got my back up. At the end of the day if all theyve got to worry about is a pair of flip flops and a nappy then surely it's overkill? It either is or isnt her DNA. This whole thing with vast amounts of cash and celebrity lawyers surely must be worrying other people too?

** Big Kahuna, Why do you need to spout that rubbish? What's that all about?

***I can't actually bear to read anymore of these comments, your heros are ruining their reputation and you'd rather watch them lose the last remaining thread of public support they have than actually read what people are saying. I really, really am so sad today.

** Appreciate that BK but it (from others not you) has actually physically ground me down today - we're all big boys and girls and can argue the toss but the barage of evilness and complete inability to read someones comments before people lay in is just hideous it really is. I don't know what the average age is for people on this board but some of you guys, including myself remind me of 14 year old girls in the school yard. It's nasty. We're discussing the disappearince of a 4 year old child here!!! Surely we all share the combined wish of seeing some justice for her - that is the most important thing. If we think her parents are involved or not involved neither side of us killed her!

** Group hug :)

Why do they feel the need for these lawyers? They haven't been charged with anything.

we live in a world where
OJ got away with murder.
jackson got away with child abuse.
clarkson got away with speeding.

i'm not so sure whoever they employ as their brief, will make any difference to the outcome,
they'll get away with more than we would hope they will.
.
they'll get away with child neglect while the police pursue them for murder, by the skin of their teeth!

Oracle - get off your backside, put your money where your mouth is and start scouring Europe for her. If you're not prepared to do that, get off your high horse and save your sanctimonious claptrap for someone who gives a damn.

It is not a case of who they are, but why are they hiring these lawyers, when in fact they have not been charged.

I wonder why that worries you?

What worries me is that the McCanns and their family are concentrating on that and spreading disinformation and spin and yet seem hardly to mention MADELEINE!!!!!

Has everyone taken leave of their senses?

Does no one want to find MADELEINE anymore?

You are just another person taking the focus off MADELEINE and making it less likely she will be found - SICK you bet it is - I think it is obscene.

Playing word games when a child is missing, possibly dead but nevertheless needs finding before all else.

You do not just need to get a life you need to discover a shred of humanity!!!!!
