Samuel, Why are you so ignorant? Why do you persist in asking the same questions over and over again. Your racial issues are a bore. It is reasonable when you ask your incredibly stupid questions in the cultures or sociology sections, though the answers will always be the same. It is said the height of stupidity is to repeat the same action again and again expecting a different result. In your case this has proven true.

It has been explained to you frequently on the San Antonio answers site that this is a racially diverse city and a very large city. In every part of the city you will find people of all races though the exact ratios may change. It is also apparent you do not understand how statistics on race in the US are obtained. The questions are normally asked are you white - hispanic or white - non-hispanic. The end result is often when you look up statistics on San Antonio and add up the numbers of whites and hispanics it totals over 100%. However, in recent sociological studies, it has been found that african americans would pay more for a house in areas that are predominately african american. This holds true for other races also. Additionally, it has been determined that people will pay a higher percentage of their income to live in an area with people of similar education level, and income level.

Where people chose to live then affects the demographics of the schools. This information holds true in every city in the US. San Antonio does not stand out as a segregated city. The norms of society are that people live and go to school where they are comfortable.

If you want to look for segregation look at Huntsville Alabama, where there are three universities. One university has less than 2% black students, the other two are 99 % black.

EDIT: Beatrice: The Mexicanos did not settle San Antonio. The first people to settle in the area were Native Americans who settled in the San Pedro Springs Area. The Spanish then came upon the river on June 13, 1691 and named it San Antonio after the feast day of St. Anthony. The actual settlement of the area was in the later 1700s by the Spanish building the Mission San Antonio de Valero as the first of the 5 missions and the Canary Islanders who built LaVillita. Major movement into the area by the descendents of the Mayan and Mayan/Spanish was later. Additionally, Texas history shows that the "heroes of the Alamo" were a mix of Tejanos and Texicans, not all new arrival Anglo colonist.

2nd EDIT: Sammie, were you aware that there is no Monticello Historic District in San Antonio? Maybe you are just looking for the demographics of the people who buy homes from the Monticello Homebuilders. Or you have serious interest in the history of Thomas Jefferson, but you have again shown your ignorance of San Antonio.

There are no places that are mostly Anglo. You could move next to the whitest person you've ever met only to find out his last name is Garcia or Gomez. Universal City has about 70% white but if you look at the last names you'll find some hispanic blood. Not a cool question to ask dude and I'm white.

San Antonio was founded by Mexicanos, so there has never really been a time when it was "mostly" white. We did not cross the border, the border crossed us. My family has lived in San Antonio for many generations, long before the"heroes" of the Alamo showed up here to take land.

Hi Samuel...up to your old antics eh? I am wondering why you hate me so much because of my skin color? I moved to san antonio because I love the Mexican culture. My husband (deceased) was Mexican/American and our beautiful son is also. My friends are a mixture of many ethnic groups including blended ethnic groups. Why do you hate me and people my color? What did we do to you that you hate us so much. You are very racist.
