We do have scientific evidence that the sun rotates and is orbiting the center of the galaxy. It's apparent motion across the sky is caused by the rotation of the earth. Of course, this is a theory so all you flat earth folks out there can rest easy.

The Sun does move though. The Sun is one of the spiral arms of the galaxy that travels around the Milky Way just as the planet revolves around itself and the Sun.

Well yes we all know that (anyone who's graduated highschool MUST know that) but then we don't go scientific in our everyday lives cause that'd would just look weird. Imagine looking up at the night sky and looking at the stars. You'd just enjoy the view rather than think "Hey some of those stars are already dead." Hmmm...

I know that the Earth rotates, not the sun, but I still find it hard to grasp because it looks like the sun moves to me. I know that the Earth really moves though.

I knew tht when I was quite young. it does not move in relation to Earth. It does move around the milky way galaxy, but we cannot see that.
