No. They are British. Personally I think they should be able to define the home nation they come from but that won't happen until they get independence or Northern Ireland becomes part of the Rep of Ireland once again (here's hoping).

I don't know about Scotland, but here in Northern Ireland, you can state on your passport that you are Irish, Northern Irish, or British - all 3 nationalities are acceptable.

I don't think so, but it does raise a good question about Northern Ireland.
Scotland England and Wales are all part of Great Britain so it is fair enough that their Nationality is noted as British.
Northern Ireland however, is not part of Great Britain.
Collectively, Great Britain & Northern Ireland make up the United Kingom and our Passport is a UK passport.
So, how can people from N Ireland be noted as British when they are not from Great Britain?

If you are Northern Irish you can apply for a Republic of Ireland passport instead of a British one.

Xenophobic mentality. If you got your way a few year down the line they would have to declare what part of Scotland or Ireland and all other sorts of stupidity!!!
Note the English do not seek to put English down!!!! They have more open minds!!!
Small minded thinking can only lead to problems for those that think that way.
