hmm 1 m = 100 cm
now 1 inch = 2.54 cm

so 1m = 100/2.54 inches
== 39.37 inches

2007-09-19 08:17:39 · answer #6 · answered by kAkashi 2 · 1 0

By definition, 2.54 cm = exactly 1 in

1 m = 100 cm

1 m = (100 cm)(1in/2.54cm)

= 100/2.54 in

= 39.37007874015748031496062992126 . . .

(this will start having repeating digits sometime)
