Nothing will take a water stain out of wood. Both answers are OK but they both may leave more of a stain depending on the type of wood the curio cabinet is made out of. Go out and find a good polish or they make wood waxes that a bowling alley uses on the lanes.
That will last longer than the polish. GOOD LUCK use a coaster next time.

The best thing I found for this problem is 190 proof pure grain alcohol available at the nearest liquor store. I had a similar stain on one of my end tables, and this took it out. You might want to spot check it in a out of sight place to make sure it won't damage the surface finish. My table wasn't that valuable, but the stain got on my nerves. I wiped the area down with a rag a couple of times and the ring went away.

You may can try general rubbing alcohol. I didn't have any at the time, but did have the drinkable variety and got lucky in that it worked.

use a mixture of toothpaste and baking soda (about 50/50) take a white towel, dish towel, rag. Rub the paste in a circular motion for several minutes. I had to do this several times to a similiar mark but each time it got lighter and lighter. After the ring is removed reapply polish and should be good as new. It does take a little elbow grease.
